FROM TOY STEERING WHEELS TO REAL ONES
They say time flies, but I didn’t realize it was breaking the speed limit.
It feels like yesterday I was watching little Eldi hold a tiny steering wheel in the snow, pretending to drive. Tuesday, he walked out with his learner’s permit.
In just 9 months, he should have his driver’s license.
Now I finally understand the saying:
“Small children, small problems. Big children, big problems.”
I couldn’t be more proud of the young man he’s becoming… but I’ll also probably check my phone every five minutes until he gets home safely.
Congratulations, Eldi. Drive safe. 🙏🏼❤️

HAPPY 250th, USA! 🇺🇸
I missed the first 239 years, but in just 11 years here, I’ve felt more at home and more welcomed than anywhere else in the world. That’s a fact.
Someone asked me the other day:
“Albin, who do you cheer for when you watch sports?”
My answer was simple:
I cheer for my community. I cheer for where I live.
Because that’s how a place becomes home. If you keep living in yesterday, you’ll never fully belong to today.
“Don’t worry, Sweden… I still cheer for you in Eurovision.” 🇸🇪😄
Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Nice and quiet, dead and sad OR maybe on the other side too crowded and chaotic, or fun and lively.
Which type are you?
HOW NOT TO COACH YOUTH SPORTS
I have nothing but respect for people who volunteer their time to coach kids.
But respect doesn’t mean we should stop questioning bad coaching habits.
One thing I’ll never understand is why so many youth practices still consist of long lines of kids waiting for their turn to dribble, pass, or shoot.
That’s not coaching. That’s wasting valuable practice time.
Kids don’t improve by standing in line. They improve through repetitions, decision-making, movement, and constant involvement.
Then we wonder why so many children lose interest and quit sports at an early age.
The answer isn’t always a lack of passion.
Sometimes they’re simply bored.
As coaches, our job isn’t to make kids fit our practice. Our job is to build practices that keep every child engaged, learning, and having fun.
The kids deserve better.
