Edmund Allred
Edmund Douglas Allred, 87, of High Point, passed away on June 2, 2026, at the Hospice Home at High Point.
Born on June 21, 1938, in Greensboro to the late Leonard and Elizabeth Isley Allred, Edmund grew up Greensboro, and graduated from Grimsley High School. In 1963, he joined the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, from 1963 to 1965 and the values of discipline and honor he learned there were carried with him throughout his life. After leaving the Army, he pursued his passion for business and helping others. He earned an associate’s degree in business laying the foundation for a lifetime career in retail management. His commitment and integrity in his profession were evident to all who had the pleasure of working with him. During his career, while managing the Greensboro Hofheimers department store, he met the Cynthia Abercrombie, whom he married soon after.
Beyond his career and service, Edmund was a man of many interests that reflected his vibrant spirit. Edmund treasured the moments that he spent with his family. These bonds meant everything to him. His greatest happiness came from spending time with those he loved the most. He was an avid collector and enthusiast of guns, a passion he joyfully shared with his grandsons during memorable afternoons spent shooting together.
His love for westerns was well-known—whether watching the iconic "Gunsmoke" on television or collecting classic western movies, these stories brought him great pleasure. Deeply rooted in faith, Edmund found comfort and strength in reading his Bible daily and was often uplifted by gospel music, alongside classic rock and country tunes that echoed the soundtrack of his life. He found meaning and could relate to the words of "Running Against the Wind," one of his favorite classic rock songs.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cynthia Abercrombie Allred; sons Steve Allred, Chester Allred, and Darrick Allred; daughter, Sandy Staley, five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Edmund was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard Allred and Ronnie Allred, and sister Sylvia Allred Harrison.
A memorial service to celebrate Edmund's life will be conducted at 2:00PM on Friday, June 12, 2026, in the High Point Chapel at Wright Funerals - Cremations with a visitation for family and friends following the service at the funeral home.

Arlene Foster
Arlene B. Foster, a much-loved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully June 1, 2026, at the age of 89, in Jamestown, NC.
Arlene was born August 3, 1936, in Wilkes County, NC to the late William Marcus and Pearl Pardue Blackburn. Arlene graduated from Wilkes Central High School in 1955 and moved to Jamestown in 1964. She was a homemaker who believed in the devotion of a mother to the home and family. Her joy came from caring for her family, her passion for cooking, gardening and caring for others. Her greatest accomplishment was being a mother. She was dedicated to her children’s overall well-being, sacrificing a great deal to raise them the best way she knew. Seeing her family grow over the generations and welcoming the new grand-babies into the family was her favorite! Her grandchildren were very special to her; they loved her cooking, especially the pumpkin pies! Cooking was her own unique way of meeting the needs of others and showing she cared.
She was a member of Green Street Baptist Church for over 60 years and the ladies Sunday School Class. Throughout her life she lived her faith humbly and sincerely. Arlene was frugal, hardworking, and had a quick wit about her that others loved. She loved being around people and never met a stranger. She had a resilient strength that carried her through her entire life.
Arlene retired from BB&T as a Customer Service Representative. In addition to her career and family, she worked with the Board of Elections office on election days for over 40 years. Her ability to connect with others created lifelong friendships from these jobs, her church family and her neighborhood community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Rhoades; her twin brothers, Jim and Donald Blackburn; her brother Junior Blackburn; and her son-in-law Charlie Noell.
She is survived by her four children: Elizabeth Noell of Jamestown, NC; Frank Foster (wife, Betsy) of High Point, NC; William Foster (wife, Gaye) of High Point, NC; and Leigh Ann Gray (husband, Gregg) of Jamestown, NC; her eight grandchildren: Bennett Noell (wife, Sarah) of Monroe, NC; Amanda Andersen (husband, Ben) of Winston-Salem, NC; Jennifer Creech (husband, Brandon) of Thomasville, NC; Tripp Foster (wife, Maggie) of Browns Summit, NC; Cole Foster of High Point, NC; Francie Foster and Liza Foster of High Point, NC; Andrew Gray of Jamestown, NC; her seven great grandchildren: Jude, Nora, and Owen Noell; Benjamin, Collins, Mary Paige and Lizzie Anderson. Also surviving is her sister Mabel Broach (husband, Ted) of Lewisville, NC; brother Joe Blackburn (wife, Judy) of Wilkesboro, NC; as well as her sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, June 5, 2026, in the High Point Chapel of Wright Funeral-Cremations with Reverend Michael Owens and Reverend Blythe Wall officiating.
Burial will be private at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30 pm, Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Wright Funeral- Cremations, High Point Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Green Street Baptist Church Youth Fund, 303 Rotary Drive, High Point, NC 27262 or Brenner’s Children’s Hospital, Medical Center Boulevard, Winston-Salem, NC 27157 or Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262 in her memory.

Patricia Ann Meinhart
Patricia Ann Galloway Meinhart, 79, of Thomasville, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation.
Born May 16, 1947, in Wooster, OH; she was a daughter of the late Edward Galloway and the late Irene Duncan Galloway.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul Meinhart; grandson, Brian Comer; and sister, Barbara Evans, brothers Richard Galloway, and George Galloway.
Mrs. Meinhart was an LPN serving in Nursing Homes and, while there, authored a book with her husband Paul, “Creative Interventions”, a book for caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients. She held a PhD in nursing from Clayton University and BA of Theology from Southeastern Seminary.
Those left to cherish her memory; her daughters, Valerie Foskit and husband Garret of Texas, Sandee Vaughn of Wallburg, and Jessica Carter of Thomasville; grandchildren, Heather Ferguson (Casey), Adam Foskit (Bree), Jonathan Tager, Andrew Tager, Daniel Canenaugh, Jordan Stefanowicz, Tesla Talley, and Jack Hyatt III; great grandchildren, Jessie, Arthur, Vincent, Alyssa, Calvin, Amara, Nahla, Chandler, Tinnley, and Cora; brothers, Raymond Galloway, Michael Galloway, and John Galloway; and sisters, Susan Meisner (Steve), Virginia “Yankee” Keisler, and Mary Riggs (William).
At the family’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers at this time.

Stephen Walter Perez
Stephen Walter Perez, 59, of High Point, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026, at his home.
Born July 22, 1966, in Manhattan, New York, Steve later made North Carolina his home, where he spent much of his life. He worked as a maintenance professional and was known for his strong work ethic, helpful nature, and the familiar jingle of keys that often announced his arrival before he entered a room.
He is survived by his daughters, Victoria Perez and Bianca Perez; his stepdaughter, Letteria Pagan; the mother of his daughters, Letteria DiMaggio; his mother, Elaine Perez; his sister, Amanda Perez; and his beloved grandchildren, Alyssa Perez, Isaiah Pagan, Angelina Wilson, Angelo Nieves, Mia Nieves, Julian Santos, Susana Santos, and Michael Ramirez.
Steve was a lifelong fan of rock music and enjoyed collecting memorabilia, reading books, and watching Star Trek. He found joy in sharing his interests with others. As a grandfather, he played an important role in the lives of his grandchildren, helping to care for and support them through the years.
Service arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Michael Sechrest
Michael Bivens Sechrest, 74, of Kernersville, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Hospice Home of High Point.
Born December 13, 1951, in Greensboro; he was a son of the late Gilmer Sechrest, Jr., and the late Maxine Barbee Harrison Sechrest.
Left to cherish his memory; his beloved daughters, Mitzi Harrison of High Point, and Wendy Sechrest of Kernersville; granddaughters, Gracie Harrison, and Katie Harrison; one brother; two sisters, and lots of other family members and friends.
Michael shared his love of music and fishing with everyone he met. He was always a sure shot at the turkey shoots and loved a good deal at flea markets. He was a hardworking man and could fix almost anything. He was a fountain of knowledge and could talk about any subject from history to aliens. He was a private man but loved his family and friends. He retired from Gilbarco.
No formal services are planned at this time but a Celebration of Life will take place soon.
