Assembly Required feels fitting this week.
Lots of tools scattered on every surface, late night glue-ups in the garage, and strategic cut outs in the drywall.
But it’s coming together!

One of the best parts of owning an escape room in the Carolinas is the community.

There’s so much kindness, encouragement, and genuine support between companies here — everyone’s just rooting for each other to create cool things and succeed.

During our Wilmington trip, we got to play all the games at The Exit Games and Cabin in the Woods at Green Light Escape Room and had an absolute blast! So fun to see just how creative this industry can be!

“Unhinged” felt fitting for a few reasons.

Escape rooms are all about opening things that were never meant to stay shut—locked boxes, hidden doors, secrets behind hinges.

But “unhinged” also means a little strange. Slightly obsessive. Wonderfully off. That’s the atmosphere we love.

And honestly… building all of this while juggling the rest of life has been a little unhinged too.

Exactly the point. 🖤

Progress is happening over here at Unhinged Escapes, even if it’s a little behind the scenes.

We get asked about an opening date a lot, and the honest answer is: not just yet. Between full-time careers, raising our kids, and building everything ourselves, this has very much been a nights-and-weekends kind of journey.

Every detail is being designed and built by hand, and while that takes time, it’s how we’re creating something truly immersive and worth the wait.

We promise, we’re getting closer!

We have a bookshelf! Additionally, lots of behind the scenes wiring and prop creation happening!

We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend. We’re definitely looking forward to some family time ourselves.
