Meet Our New Animal Friend!

Stop by the Aquarium building lobby to meet our newest resident that calls the science center home, Theodore, a male Argentine Black and White Tegu!

Native to South America, this species is recognized for its distinctive black and white markings, intelligence, and curious nature. Male Tegus typically weigh between 15-20 pounds and can reach lengths of up to 4.5 feet. They also possess prominent, muscular jowls that serve to attract mates, display dominance, and provide protection around the neck area.

Come say hello, learn fun facts about this amazing reptile, and get an up-close look at one of the most fascinating animals. We look forward to introducing you to Theodore and showing you what he has been up to in his new enclosure.
