such good info when someone is allergic to their cat, instead of giving them up to try: (taken from a comment on FB)

So, I work in cat rescue and my spouse is also extremely allergic. However we were able to find a solution. We purchased a good air purifier system. Then we found out what people are actual allergic to is a protein cats have called Fel d1. Purina makes a food called live clear that reduces that protein in a few months of being on it. Another thing we implemented was constantly using the waterless bath wipes to help with the dandruff. We did not let them in bedroom either. He also used to have to do to doctor for allergy shots but after exposure and all the adjustments he has been fine and only sometimes has to take over counter allergy meds. Have they tried any of this to help?
