I saw a bunch of fellow woodworkers making these "floating" crosses and thought it looked fun. I had some live edge cedar laying around and some scrap walnut and gave it a go. Wow is it beautiful!! I absolutely LOVE how the cedar shows off the walnut! My only criticism is that i didn't have a larger magnet to space the cross more evenly. I even hand cut the tenons for the uprights! I didn't put any polyurethane on it, because I really wanted the wood to speak for itself. I absolutely love this! What do y'all think?

Well, here's the newest addition to my planter lineup! I REALLY like the possibilities with this one! This one would look awewith a little engraved plaque with either a last name or a "Welcome" on it, sitting right by a front door. I do love the oiled look, but I'm really excited to watch this one age gracefully! Hopefully this will sell as good as the others I make! Total height is about 25.5"x23"x13.5"... and the planter box is 22"x5"x11".

Latest attempt at a planter... actually 2 planters! The base is about 18"x18"x18" and the top planter is about 17"x5.5"x5.5"! The windmill is about 4' tall with a 2' wide blade span. And the best part is, it actually spins! Now, it would take some incredibly strong winds to spin it, but it does actually spin. The uprights are made from treated wood, so I'd recommend putting a potted plant in both boxes. I learned a lot with this build and would love to know what y'all think. I'm thinking a wishing well planter or wagon planter may be next on my list. Not sure yet.
