Senior year goes by in a blink. One season your senior is walking into their last first day, the next the tassel is turning.
One session captures one version of them. A whole year captures all of them. The athlete, the dreamer, the one in cap and gown.
I just shared why senior year deserves more than a single afternoon, plus all the ways we can document it. Link in the comments.

Magnolia’s Moment of Grace
Solomon asked God for one thing. Not riches, not a long life, not the defeat of his enemies. He asked for wisdom. God gave it to him so fully that Scripture calls him the wisest man who ever lived. Proverbs is full of what poured out of him. “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding” Proverbs 2:6, NIV
Yet the wisest man still wandered. Solomon, who knew God’s voice better than anyone of his time, let his heart be pulled away in the end. If the wisest man could falter, then I have to believe my own stumbling does not surprise God either. He knows what we are made of. He knew before we ever drifted.
That is where this sunflower keeps preaching to me. When a sunflower is young, it follows the sun across the sky all day long, searching, leaning, always turning. As it matures and opens fully, it settles. It holds its face toward the east, toward the place the light rises, and it waits there for morning. We grow the same way. Early faith chases and sways. Seasoned faith learns where the light comes from and holds steady toward it, trusting the dawn will come again.
The bee resting in the center reminds me there is always something to gather when we come close. Proverbs tells us, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” Proverbs 9:10, NIV. Nearness is where the sweetness is. We were never meant to carry wisdom on our own. We were meant to keep returning to the source of it.
So today I am praying I stay turned toward Him. I want to look for God in the ordinary hours, the way that bloom holds its face toward the sunrise. When I fall short, I trust He still loves me. He still forgives me. He does the very same for you.
Turn toward the light, friend. He has been facing you the whole time.
