🌟 Experience “African American Cotillions: History, Culture & Tradition” at Clark County Museum! 🌟
We’re inspired every day by stories like this one sent to Curator, Dr. Nikita Y. Harris:
"Greetings Dr. Nikita Harris! I’m here at the exhibit and loving it! My niece, Nailah, is here with me. Your exhibit has inspired her to want to be a deb!! Currently, Na’ilah lives in Yokosuka, Japan, and will move to Hawaii in a year. Please let us know if you know of African American-based cotillions in Japan or Hawaii!
My entire family flew in from all over the world! I’m the eldest of 6 children and this is our first-ever family reunion. We chose Las Vegas because one of our sisters and her family live here."
Be part of this powerful celebration of heritage, culture, and family—visit before the exhibit ends on August 4th! Don’t miss your chance to experience this unforgettable journey.

Swanky Club on Boulder Highway, c. 1946. Ads appeared in the Las Vegas Review-Journal that year boasting of the food and live entertainment, with one in November claiming it to be the “Most Unusual Club in Southern Nevada serving the Most Unusual Food in Southern Nevada (Steaks, Chicken, Spanish Food) with the Most Unusual Entertainment (Nina Russell and The Four Gay Knights, Female Impersonators).
Also remembered for its smorgasbord and as a family and community gathering place, the site was later the location of the recently closed Joker's Wild Casino.
