🔥For several years, I have asserted in the mid-1990s, when Congress revised the hardship standard for immigration court hearings, their formula did not specify a requirement stricter than the old suspension of deportation rule.

🔥Good Moral Character in naturalization cases is an elusive concept. It does not mean moral perfection.
But it can undermine an immigrant’s application for U.S. citizenship (and in some cases, even their permanent residence standing).
Do not under-estimate the process.
Be sure to study and understand the nuances before filing your N-400 naturalization application.

🔥As the political season heats in 2024, you’ll hear more and more anti-immigrant politicians claim offspring of undocumented immigrants are not entitled to U.S. citizenship.
They’ll use mean-spirited terms like “anchor babies” to describe these children.
But they’re wrong.
Worse, their efforts are aimed at hijacking the U.S. Constitution.
