Courtney Riddle, LCSW
Connection is simpler than we think. Attention + memory. Follow what people tell you and retain as much as you can. Remember, the little things ARE the big things.
The best place to reset and regulate your nervous system is near water. I have always known this instinctively, but came across new research that suggests it only takes 2 minutes of looking at the water for blood pressure & heart rate to drop. It’s more calming to look at a lake or stream than grass or trees. Going to the beach isn’t exactly a new activity, but now we know why it’s good for us and can be more intentional about doing things to help our nervous system while having fun at the same time.
Conflict deferred is conflict amplified. Say your important things. Speak your needs out loud. Be honest & get them in the open. Silence can be a form of a lie.
