Responsible for supervising the entire operation.
Key Responsibilities
-Train each employee and develop weekly schedules
-Meet with prospective parents and children
-Continuously identify ways to enhance the programs curriculum
-Seek opportunities to expand the site into other areas of Illinois
-Express a commitment to providing quality child care for all children enrolled
-Ensure and assist in maintaining a fun, innovative, safe and clean environment
-Must rotate cleaning between all staff members
-Plan and hold regular staff meetings with all employees
-Plan all parenting events and quarterly field trips
-All candidates must be comfortable with rotating in different classrooms
Experience/Abilities/Skills
-Previous work experience in a child care environment is preferred
-Able to establish effective relationships with parents and children
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Knowledge of MS Office and general office programs, terminology and equipment
-Able to physically and mentally react appropriately and immediately to unexpected circumstances
-Able to remain positive, upbeat and friendly in stressful situations
-Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
-Able to develop a positive relationship with peers
-Able to bend and stoop to interact on a child’s level throughout the day -Able to remain positive, upbeat and friendly at all times
Education
-High School Diploma or equivalent is required
-Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education or similar field is preferred -All candidates must meet the licensing requirements or specialized training
-All new child care directors hired on or after July 1, 2017 shall have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in child development or early childhood education
-The equivalent of 64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21 semester hours of college credit or 3 points of credential approved training in
administration, leadership or management
-Effective July 1, 2017 licensed child care centers must have an employee on site at all times with a minimum of an associates degree in child development or early childhood education
-All candidates must have their CDA(Child Development Associate) or the equivalent which is defined as 64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21 semester hours of college credit in early childhood development
