Alpha Chi Rho - Phi Psi Chapter at Trinity College
We look forward to seeing everyone over homecoming this year! (November 4th-6th)
The Crow Annual Newsletter:
Dear Brethren,
2015 was an eventful year in the Crow House. We said goodbye to the class of 2015 and wished them best of luck. While they are still missed, they left a legacy for the fraternity that the undergraduate brothers were proud to take on and continue.
For the second year in a row, Alpha Chi Rho participated in the Walk for Thought, a fundraiser that benefits survivors of traumatic brain injuries. Brothers worked different stations at the walk and participated in raising money.
2015 ended with our annual elections. Many of the newly elected officers were on the previous executive board. This was especially advantageous to the chapter because the newly elected E-board had minimal issues in continuing what the previous E-board had began, such as drafting a chapter constitution and beginning discussions with the school to move onto Vernon Street. The results of the election were:
President: Steve Krushell ‘17
Vice President: Ben Cerel ‘17
Treasurer/Community Service Chair: Russell Pierson ‘17
Secretary/Social Chair: Kevin Premto ‘17
Sergeant at Arms: Chris Cilliers ‘17
The previous executive board has provided priceless guidance and advice to the new officers, and the brotherhood feels that the fraternity is in good hands being lead by these gentlemen.
Steve and Ben have been in contact with the dean of students and alumni to continue discussions about moving into a vacant lot on Vernon Street. Previous Vice President Jake Rubin ’15 began those discussions and it was and still is Steve and Ben’s top priority to bring our chapter one step closer to moving onto Vernon Street. The repeal of the Co-ed mandate has significantly benefited our efforts, and we look forward to continuing working with the school to one day (hopefully sooner rather than later) find ourselves once again on Vernon Street.
On behalf of the brothers of the original chapter of Alpha Chi Rho, we would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy new year, and hope to see everyone at next year’s homecoming.
Sincerely,
The Brothers of the Phi Psi Chapter of Alpha Chi Rho

The Crow Annual Newsletter:
Dear fellow Crows,
This past year has been eventful at the Phi Psi chapter of Alpha Chi Rho. Between initiating new members and electing a new executive board, many changes have been happening within the Crow house at Trinity College to benefit the fraternity and prepare us for the future. Of all the changes that have happened within the past year, here’s a list of a few that are most noticeable.
Last Fall, Alpha Chi Rho contributed to the Trinity and greater Hartford community in various ways. For example, Crow teamed up with Relay for Life and ran the “No Shave November” campaign on the Trinity College campus. This raised money that was donated to the American Cancer Society. In addition, Crow participated in Halloween on Vernon, which provided Hartford children the ability to trick or treat on Vernon Street. Crow brothers acted as ambassadors and lead the kids from house to house on Vernon Street and made sure the event ran smoothly.
The Phi Psi chapter of Alpha Chi Rho is pleased to announce the induction of the fall class of 2014 and the spring class of 2015. These new brethren embody the “ANDRIZESQE” motto and what it means to be a brother of our fraternity, as well as bring great potential to the future of Alpha Chi Rho. All of these new members are in the class of 2017, except for Michael Battista, who is in the class of 2016, and many of these new brothers are now serving on the newly elected executive board.
We are pleased to announce the results of the 2015 executive board election. The results go as follows:
President: Brian Love ‘16
Vice President: Jake Rubin ‘15*
Treasurer: Justin Kim ‘17
Secretary: Benjamin Cerel ‘17
Social Chair: Matt Desalle ‘16
Sergeant at Arms: Christopher Cilliers ‘17
Community Service Chair: Michael Battista ‘16
Brothers of the fraternity convened last December before the holiday break to elect new members, and after deliberation and voting, our new executive board was elected. Previous executive board members as well as graduating seniors have provided the necessary information and guidance for the newly elected officers, and the officers have been proactive in taking new steps for the fraternity.
The new executive board has been proactive in taking steps to better the future of our fraternity. Crow is currently in contact with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in order to find a way to raise funds for MS research. In addition, we are currently involved with a program that plans to feed over 40 children in the local Hartford area this weekend. Crow will also be participating in a “Consent is so Frat” event March 29th. Lastly, we are currently in discussion with our landlord to acquire access to the basement of the Crow house to use for social events.
As our graduating seniors finish their last semester at Trinity College, the Phi Psi chapter is working to continue to pave the path they have left for us and to continue to strengthen the Crow brotherhood. As we spend our last semester with our seniors, we wish them luck in their future endeavors and hope they return to Crow once they have become alumni. We wish everyone a happy, healthy new year, and hope to see everyone at the next Alumni weekend.
Sincerely,
The Brothers of the Phi Psi chapter of Alpha Chi Rho
