Today, State Representative Joe Canino - Torrington and I had the privilege of recognizing Bella the husky with an official citation for her incredible bravery after she courageously protected a young child in her family from a bear in Torrington. When danger appeared, Bella didn’t hesitate. She jumped into action, giving her family the time they needed to get to safety.

Bella’s loyalty, courage and instinct to protect are nothing short of extraordinary. Stories like hers remind us of the remarkable bond between families and their pets and the incredible acts of heroism that can happen in our own communities.

Congratulations, Bella, on this well-deserved recognition. Connecticut is proud to call you one very good dog! 🐾
