Throughout our Pride Special here at FOX61/CW20, I helped delve into the known, and unknown parts of LGBTQ+ history here in Connecticut. My first piece was actually the idea of my co-worker and photographer on the project Del!

When you think of LGBTQ+ communities, you may think of areas like New York City and San Francisco, and not necessarily rural towns.

However, tucked away in the wilds of Connecticut, you will find the Palmer-Warner House in East Haddam. It was a place built by love, and acted as an oasis for members of the LGBTQ+ community decades ago, where people could live as their authentic selves.

After a lot of hard work from so many people, I'm excited to share the latest special from FOX61 Pride Is Everywhere - Follow The Rainbow Trail.

This year, Emma Wulfhorst and I take a road trip across Connecticut to take a look at LGBTQIA+ landmarks and history that have shaped the past, present and future of the community.

I'll share some of the stories I helped put together for the special over the next few days, which include a LGBTQIA+ sanctuary in East Haddam, the history of Connecticut Drag, and a bakery that has become a point of pride for the town of Granby.
