Senior Night Magic: Raines Walk-Off Lifts Lady Goblins Past Berryville
HARRISON — Senior Night ended in storybook fashion Thursday as the Harrison Lady Goblins pulled out a dramatic 6-5 walk-off win over the Berryville Lady Bobcats, scoring the deciding run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
With the game tied and the winning run in scoring position, senior Marlee Raines delivered the final blow, driving in Charli Kate Kolb to end the game and ignite a celebration at home plate.
Harrison struck first with a run in the opening inning, but Berryville answered with two in the second. The Lady Goblins quickly responded, scoring twice in the bottom of the inning to regain the lead. Berryville surged ahead in the fifth with a three-run rally, only to see Harrison answer again with two runs to tie the game at 5-5.
After a scoreless sixth, Harrison put together one final push in the seventh. Jordin Quandt helped spark the rally, and Kolb moved into scoring position before Raines’ walk-off hit sealed the Senior Night victory.
Raines led the Lady Goblins at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Kolb went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, while Hadlie Lemmon added a key two-run double earlier in the contest. Quandt added a triple and two stolen bases to keep constant pressure on the Berryville defense.
In the circle, Clara Everhart struck out eight over 5.1 innings, and Olivia Wood was sharp in relief, throwing the final 1.2 innings without allowing a run to earn the win.
The emotional win was a fitting way for Harrison to honor its seniors, showcasing resilience, timely hitting, and composure when it mattered most.
