What does seed borrowing mean? Let me explain —

-Most of the seeds you see in the library will come from companies as well as seed keepers in our community.
-Envelopes and markers are available — take only what you need. Label your envelops and leave some seeds for neighbors.
-Here comes the ~mutual~ part of mutual aid — please come bring us your seeds! Fill our library! Save the seeds from your vegetables and fruits, or any seeds you have to dry and store.

I’m sorry — but when I imagine you taking a few okra seeds to plant your okra, then you harvesting that okra, and drying & saving some seeds to replace in the library, I just start bawling. I mean straight up ugly crying. A garden is a community. A community is a garden. Simple As. See it. Saw it. Sorted. Any questions? 💕😩🥰🌆🪏

We are so delighted! did a student project for the tool library. Today, just in time for summer, they came in and set it up! Coupled with this beautiful zine, The Harrisburg Seed Library. Stop in, drop off some seeds, or pick up some seeds to plant along with gardening supplies! We’re here, Sunday until 4 PM and Thursdays from 5:30-7:30.

The Harrisburg Tool Library is a fully volunteer owned and operated organization. We build it together. DM us if you want to volunteer as a librarian or check out our volunteer form on our website.

The tool library is closed today, Sunday 5/10 for mothers day! Happy day to all the mothers of this earth. Thank you for your resilience, your love, your acceptance, and all your wisdom. You are creators of life.

The Tool Library will not be open this Sunday for our usual 12-4 hours, so our volunteers can spend the holiday with their families. We’ll be back for regular hours starting Thursday, 4/9 from 5:30-7:30.
