Take Office
Come along with us to Paris for our Take Office Advanced Leadership Development Accelerator that happened earlier this October.
We welcomed 13 accomplished women to Columbia Global Center's historic Reid Hall to sharpen their advocacy skills and policy knowledge in an international context. Through policy seminars, masterclasses, and skill development intensives, participants strengthened leadership and advocacy skills, and networked with an international cohort and faculty.
Co-sponsored by Columbia School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), our two day program covered topics from climate change to negotiations to advocating for underserved communities.
Stay tuned for more from our exciting Paris Cohort!

"Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference." -Kathy Calvin,
former President and Chief Executive Officer of the United Nations Foundation
This Giving Tuesday, we are asking you to help us with our mission of closing the gap in gender equity among policy makers and public office holders by contributing to our "30 in 30" crowdfunding campaign. After a successful pilot program at Columbia University SIPA, (known as Pathways to Politics), and two successful years in a fully virtual format, we are looking to bring the cohort back to fully in-person and triple the number of women accepted into the cohort. Funds raised by the crowdfunding campaign will not only help us achieve this, but will also provide a robust financial aid program that will allow the program to accept any woman who seeks training, regardless of her ability to pay.
We hope that you will join us in creating a world where every other leader in government is a woman by donating to our campaign today and helping us train the next generation of female policy makers and public office holders.

Powerful words from a Take Office alumnae: "I took the first iteration of this [Take Office] course at Columbia | SIPA over a year ago, and it was among the most powerful courses I've taken... I learned so much about what it takes to run a political campaign--and perhaps most importantly, I learned that IT IS POSSIBLE." - Alanna S., Pathways to Politics alumnae, 2020
In January 2020, Take Office founder Jeri Powell created Pathways to Politics at Columbia University | SIPA, following its success, Take Office was founded, offering high profile speakers, distinguished experts, and practitioners as part of the leadership development cohort.
After being fully virtual in 2021 and 2022, we are looking to bring the program back to fully in-person sessions in 2023, but we are looking for your help. We recently launched our crowdfunding campaign "30 in 30"- 30 days, 300+ donors, with a goal of raising $30,000. The funds raised during the campaign will allow Take Office to train more women, including a robust financial aid program that allows the program to accept every woman who seeks training, regardless of their ability to pay.
We hope you will join us, contribute, and make this program a reality for more women. Help us close the gender equity gap in public policy.
