What Should America Ask God for on Her 250th Birthday?

America has been richly blessed by God—with abundant resources, industrious people, prosperity and a deep religious heritage.

We should thank God and Our Lady for these blessings—but also beg God to help our nation's moral and spiritual conversion.

America is suffering from division, moral confusion, and a loss of faith. Politics and government alone cannot heal the nation's deepest wounds.

But God and Our Lady can transform hearts because people are changed by holy examples, not by political parties.

For America 250, let's ask God for three things:

1. Deliver us from extreme individualism.

Self-centeredness destroys families, communities, and the common good. Whereas Our Lady teaches selfless love, sacrifice, and charity.

2. Restore true freedom

Modern society confuses freedom with doing whatever we want.
However, true freedom is found in virtue, truth, and obedience to God's law. We should consecrate ourselves to the Mother of God as St. Louis de Montfort teaches, which leads us to authentic freedom in Jesus Christ.

3. End our secularism.

America has pushed God to the margins of public life. But a nation cannot flourish when it ignores its Creator.

As America marks 250 years, our greatest need is not political reform—but spiritual renewal. Let us ask God to unite our nation, restore virtue, and lead America -- like the Prodigal Son -- back to his Father's house.
