Celebration of Life Service for Tim Malkus at Arise! EFC Feb. 14, 2026 www.arisepa.org

Visitation: 11am-12pm
Service: 1:00-2:00pm

Obituary :
Timothy R. Malkus, 73, of Littlestown, beloved husband of Shirley O’Dell Hesson Malkus, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at his home following a brief illness.

Born on Monday, June 9, 1952 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Henry Junior and Bobby Lou Jones Malkus. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gwen L. Kelly and a brother, Philip Andrew Malkus. A 1970 graduate of Hanover High School, he spent his 47 year career with Hanover Wire Cloth, retiring on July 10, 2015. He was a member of Arise Evangelical Free Church, where he managed the ushers for many years and always greeted with a friendly smile.

Tim loved the 1950’s and 1960’s; and in addition to enjoying the movies and music of that time, he was also a big Richard Nixon fan. His passion was in old cars and was a member of the Studebaker Club for many years. He loved a clean car and spent hours detailing his cars or any that pulled into his driveway. He once said he was a homebody, he enjoyed traveling to car shows and Civil War reenactments as well as to see his family which was all over the United States. Family was very important to him and times walking in nature, spent at Raystown Lake or eating at his favorite restaurants were some of his fondest. He loved a good, very hot cup of coffee as well as snacks, which earned his nickname “Spud.” He was a man with a positive disposition and friendly spirit.

In addition to his wife of 41 years, he is survived by his daughter, Michelle L. Bohrer and her husband, Alvin, of Hanover; a step-son, Gary L. Gilbert and his wife, Lauren of Summerville, GA; eight grandchildren and a brother, Matthew Malkus of Hanover.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held 1 pm on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Arise Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Randy Strode and Dr. Arthur Woods officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service as well as immediately following the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 1350 Broadway, Suite 1530, New York, NY 10018; Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 or to Arise Evangelical Free Church, 109 Flickinger Road, Hanover, PA 17331.

What is Easter? What does Easter eggs and the Easter Bunny have to do with Easter? Should Churches be involved with Easter eggs! Looking forward to Resurrection Sunday - 2025!
