Math-O-Vision Movie Contest
Dear friends of Math-O-Vision,
After a thorough analysis (of course!), we have determined that the Neukom Institute for Computational Science will no longer be able to support the Math-O-Vision competition. We are grateful to all of our movie makers, supporters and the judges in particular, for the time and energy you gave to this effort to promote math, critical thinking, innovation and creativity among high school students.
Warm regards,
Dan Rockmore, Director

Congratulations to our secon prise winner, Jon Allen, who created the delightful LEGO Intersection movie. Watch his movie below!
Here is what some of our classroom and outside judges had to say about his creative movie:
"Hands down this was the most entertaining move for me middle school students. They enjoyed all of the puns and plays on names. The editing must have been very tedious, and you can tell much time was put into this video."
–Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart, Franke
"Seth McFarland would love this video. Great animation and graphics."
–Ira Flatow
"This movie was the 'optimus prime!'"
–Academy of the Sacred Heart, Delicath

Meet our winners! Congratulations to our first prize winners, Noor and Tala Shahin, whose move, "Convergent" was chosen by our clasroom judges as their favorite.
Watch their movie below!
Here is what some of our classroom and outside judges had to say about their film:
"This movie hit a sweet spot with my middle school students. It was extremely relevant to my kids, and they appreciated the Divergent connections. Also, they were familiar with much of the math, especially the algebra and geometry parts. Only about 14 kids understand the SohCahToa reference, but that was more than I anticipated. Good video overall, and fun to watch."
–Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart, Franke
"Love the message that there are lots of different ways in which you can be good at and enjoy math."
–Dan Rockmore
"You're AWESOME! Loved how you related the Stop Sign to all four forms of math. The puns were horribly good. We will watch it again and again. Thanks."
