Our community has been through a lot lately. With the recent fires, we know many of you are feeling unsettled and we feel that right along with you. Your safety is always at the center of what we do. Even though Fire Prevention is in October; for us, fire safety is a year‑round commitment.

That’s why, over the next few days, we’ll be sharing important public‑safety reminders to help keep your homes and families protected. We’re starting with the basics: working smoke detectors, safe use of extension cords & avoiding overloaded outlets, and knowing escape routes.

These small steps save lives. We want every household in the Hanover area to feel confident, prepared, and supported. We care deeply about your homes, your families, and your peace of mind. We’re here with you every day of the year working together to keep our community safe.

EMS Week: Provider Spotlight, Chris O

Basic Info
Christopher O- EMT
Years of Service in EMS- 1 year

Getting to Know You

Q: What inspired you to become an EMS provider?
A: My inspiration to become an EMT comes from my family’s long history of volunteer first responders throughout PA. Growing up around people who dedicated their time to helping others showed me the importance of compassion, sacrifice and service to the
community. I wanted to be the source of comfort and support during the darkest moments in people’s lives and make a difference when it matters most.

Q: What’s one skill or quality you think is essential for EMS work?
A: The one skill/quality that is essential for EMS work is communication. Without proper
communication, we as medical providers cannot do our job properly.
