Hampton Fire

Chief Tucker was adamant that he didn't want us to make a fuss over his retirement, but after more than 40 years of dedicated service to the City of Hampton, the entire Division simply couldn't let him leave without showing our immense appreciation for his leadership, operational expertise, and steadfast commitment.
Beginning his journey on December 30, 1985, Chief Tucker worked his way up from Medic Firefighter to Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, and ultimately Battalion Chief. He leaves behind an incredible legacy of innovation, having directed major advancements in our Emergency Medical Services Branch, including the Whole Blood Program, the Crisis Response Team (CARES), Mobile Integrated Health, and so much more.
Beyond his clinical oversight, he will always be remembered for his mentorship and his guiding mentality: "When in doubt, always do what is right for the patient, and you will never be wrong."
Chief Tucker, thank you for your unwavering dedication to this community and for making us a stronger, safer Division. Enjoy a well-deserved retirement!
