Back 2 School Blues

Today’s the day, after a long break
We set our clocks so we wouldn’t be late
But we didn’t have to drive or catch a bus
Rooms in our homes
Is where class is set up
We pulled out our chrome books
And logged onto zoom
To meet our classmates and teachers
At virtual school
We raised our hands by pressing a key
And talked a little about how strange this must be
Even though learning is surely different
Toughing it out must be our mission
And Moms and Dads still found a way
To make us all feel special today
Back to school clothes and back to school hair
In my bedroom
At my desk in my chair
We may all be thinking
How this just isn’t fair
But let us be mindful
Of the blessings we share
May we pick up the pieces
May we be brave
May we study like scholars
And learn healthy ways
Tap into creativity
Let love be your muse
May we try very hard
In all that we do
If you feel down
Don’t forget, you are not alone
So cheers to us
And the year we stayed home

Blessings to all the administrators, parents, teachers, faculty and staff all across our country and around the world. Blessings to all of our young people. We got this 🖤

In a garden, yes it’s true
There are many flowers, oh so beautiful
Don’t fret about if they will pick and choose
Wisdom knows you are special
You give life and all you have to do... Is bloom~ A.P.

Did you know that studies have shown girls are more mentally & emotionally impacted in their real lives due to social media than boys?? And that when allowed on different social media platforms by their “tweens” there has been a strong link between online usage and a decline in happiness??? I know that many of us believe social media is taking up too much of our lives even as adults. Pressure to keep up, be successful, interesting, fun, & beautiful unfortunately has not left adults unscathed let alone children in the teen/ tween stage. I first want to remind you all that we are all people trying our best to live this human experience to the best of our abilities. Be kind to yourselves, and take time for yourself. Most importantly I want you to be cognizant of these amazing beings you’ve been given charge over. They need quality time with you, with nature, and with themselves. Time to discover their own uniqueness, and the encouragement of those who love and care for them letting them know how important who THEY are really is. They cannot do this if they are constantly looking to the right or to the left to see what they should be. Who they should resemble. How they should sound. Make sure they know they are more than enough. We are each a masterpiece. The world is our exhibit, our art show. No one piece should be walking around looking exactly the same. Where’s the excitement in that? In other words, take their faces out of those screens, television’s, computer’s & phone’s. You don’t need a cheat sheet. JUST. BLOOM.

Did you know??? Literacy is essential to developing a strong sense of well being? Children who have developed strong reading skills are known to have a healthier self image and perform better in school. Read aloud to your little ones; especially from the infant/toddler to early school age stage. These early years are critical to language development. Give your extraordinary learners the gift of language, independence, keys to acquiring knowledge, creativity, exploration, and so much more when you open up a book and READ!!! We are also celebrating and supporting local and small black businesses in this post. The girl’s books are from Be BOMB Book Club and their adorable knitted knee highs are from .
Hope you all had a blessed day. 🖤👑🦄📚📖
