Old Hampton Ballet Recognition Committee The Committee is intended to honor and memorialize Mrs. Muriel Evans, owner and founder of the Hampton Academy of Ballet and the Hampton Roads Civic Ballet. We are establishing scholarships to honor her lifelong dedication to dance and to her students.

This photo is of Muriel Evans the woman who inspired the establishing of this Committee.

Muriel and her husband, Edgerton founded The Academy Of Ballet in 1948 in and the performing company Hampton Roads Civic Ballet in 1959. She continued teaching ballet classes until 2012.

Old Hampton Ballet Recognition Committee is proud to honor the memory and legacy of Muriel Evans with establishing EVERY CHILD SHALL DANCE SCHOLARSHIP. With your donations, we are looking forward to presenting our first dance scholarship in June 2023.
