We’ll be busy in Buttercup Valley this weekend, with a Forest Restoration event on Saturday and our Spring Wildflower Walk on Sunday!
Saturday, April 11th 10-1pm Forest Restoration
We’ll be sweeping Buttercup Valley starting from the Stanford trailhead, pulling remaining pockets of garlic mustard. Years of effort have depleted the seed bank of this invasive plant in our preserve, but there is more to do. Registration required. For forest restoration events please register here using your MyImpact account: https://bttr.im/du456
Sunday, April 12th 1-2:30pm Spring Wildflower Walk
Spring ephemeral wildflowers will be a highlight of this hike, as we explore the rich, mature forest of Buttercup Valley Nature Preserve. Registration required. For hikes you can register using your MyImpact account OR on our website at https://www.northsidegreenspace.org/event-details/spring-wildflower-walk-4

NGI was at Taking Root’s Great Tree Summit this morning! Brendan gave a brief presentation on the Langland Wildway project in Northside that NGI assisted with, while Mary and Sam helped with tabling for the event. We also accepted our board member Bill Berger’s “Johnny Appleseed” award on his behalf, since he was unable to be there this morning.
