The Newbees

Our hearts ache today as we mourn the loss of our biggest fan. Terri Liggett Burkhart was so much more than a fan. She has been a dear friend of ours for longer than our band's existence. We would like to express our heartfelt sorrow to her entire family.

When we remember Terri, our first vision is of her dancing, when we all first met at the old Southgate House, her beautiful smile, her bright BEEutiful eyes. She was so happy, so full of life and such a good dancer! ! That was twenty five years ago, the absolute best of times! And that smile, those eyes, her heart has never changed from the moment we met her.

Terri and her daughter Tricia Burkhart were the original Bee Girls, handling our merchandise and promotion, often with little notice and always with enthusiasm and devotion.

Tricia has impressed upon us how much Terri valued our friendship and how she loved and took comfort our music. We are utterly grateful and honored to hear that she held us in such high regard and that we somehow contributed to the continuation of Terri's beautiful disposition.

There is no way for us to convey the gratitude we have for Terri, for having us be part of her life, for she being in ours and everything she did for the band.

Thank you, sweet angel. We love you. 🐝❤️
