Brazilian rosewood is celebrated for its dramatic grain and deep tonal variation. Its beauty, however, led to overharvesting, and in 1992 it was placed under CITES protection, prohibiting the trade of newly harvested material. As a result, vintage examples like this are increasingly rare and highly collectible.
