A Christmas Poem

It is the night before Christmas and all through the barns not a horse is stirring not even a fowl . With the horses all snuggled in there stalls and the lights are all dime. all’s you hear is munching and crunching of hay coming from the stalls. As the sun rises and and the barn awakens you know you’ll do all over again. As Christmas passes back to are friends.

PERIOPLE

1) PERIOPLE IS A THIN WAXY LAYER THAT COVER THE OUTER SURFACE OF THE HOOF CAPSULE.

2) IT SERVES AS A TRANSITION BETWEEN THE SOFT SKIN AND HARD HOOF WALL. PROTECTING THE NEWLY GROWN HOOF WALL IT HELPS PROTECT THE HOOF CAPSULE.

3) REMOVING THE PERIOPLE INCREASES THE RISK OF DRYING,CRANKING,AND LOSS OF INTEGRITY OF THE OUTER HOOF WALL. EXCESSIVE PERIOPLE ESPECIALLY IN HORSES WITH FEATHERS CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF BACTERIAL AND FUNGAL GROWTH AND CAN LEAD TO INFECTION.
