There is NO WAY that I could said this better! We are still grieving, still hurting, but know that GOD has a greater purpose for us all.

It’s taken me a few days to even know how to begin writing this.

Our church family is carrying a weight that feels impossible to put into words. We are grieving the loss of four incredible men, Austin, Aaron, Jakson, and Colin. They were not just names in a community. They were fathers. Sons. Brothers. Friends. Servants. Worshipers. They were woven into the story of Hope.

And now we sit in the ache of their absence.

On Sunday I said something I want to say again here:

Grief is not the absence of faith. It is the evidence of love.

If you are heartbroken, that is not weakness. That is love. If you feel disoriented, that is not failure. That is loss. Scripture tells us that “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” Not distant. Not frustrated. Not disappointed. Close.

Jesus Himself wept.

So we weep.

We are not pretending the storm isn’t real. We are not rushing past the pain. We are not offering clichés to silence sorrow. The peace of God, His shalom, does not deny chaos. It simply refuses to let chaos have the final word.

The way we honor Austin, Aaron, Jakson, and Colin is not by minimizing what happened. It is by living the kind of lives they lived, intentional, faithful, mission-minded, and deeply loving. By carrying one another’s burdens. By showing up. By choosing what matters eternally. By fixing our eyes on Jesus when we don’t understand what He is doing.

We do not grieve as those without hope.

Our hope is not fragile. It is not built on circumstances. It is anchored in a Savior who conquered death and promises restoration beyond what we can see right now.

So yes, we grieve. Deeply. Honestly.
But we grieve with our eyes lifted.

In the days ahead, we will keep gathering. We will keep praying. We will keep worshiping. We will keep carrying one another. And when the weight feels too heavy for one, the rest will step in.

And as we walk through this valley together, we trust that God will meet us here, shaping us, strengthening us, and reminding us that this is not the end of the story.

The same God who is close to us in our sorrow will be faithful to lead us forward.

We love you, Hope family. And we are moving ahead together.

So tired of people being unthruthful. Oh wait, I am in the Auto Industry, I should be used to being lied to by now. Buyers are liars. As Shop owners and Technicians, we are held to a much higher standard than most. And after 40+ years in the Auto Repair industry, it STILL shocks me when consumers lie about things. A few events recently have made me feel like I cannot trust ANYONE!

Not many Euro shops here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast can say that they are welcoming of an Aston Martin. I say, LET’s DO IT!!!!!

Controlled chaos is the way that I heard Dale Earnhardt Sr. explain it best. Life and racing are both that way. I will never forget that as long as I live. So, here's the story. A friend of mine shows up at my shop today in his Hummer, asking me to help him diagnose his Mercedes 500SL. Says "I'll be right back". Shows up in his Ferrari V8 powered Maserati Gran Turismo. we talk about that car quite a bit, since I happen to be VERY familiar with them. Then, takes me sideways multiple times on the way to his shop where he is showing me some VERY kick ass renovations. I am highly enthusiastic! Then, he cuts my Achilles heel and shows me an old Harley-Davidson that he wants to sell, and there I am, hook baited, fish in sight. I take the bait. He knew that he sold me before he ever put me in that damn car. Tell me your friends don't know you LOL! Don't ever think that control is something that is absolute. Control is an illusion. Enjoy the moment, buy the Harley, enjoy the Maserati drifting, HAHAHAHA!!!!
