Splendid Adventure

I'm so excited with our renovation progress! Hurricane repairs are done, now we're just putting it back together. New floors, new bed, new sofa (I LOVE it!), new television and console in the living room & north bedroom, fresh paint on the walls, cabinets & new vanity in the bathroom. Now I'm getting to get the art back up on the walls & work on the final touches that make Splendid Adventure the special getaway it is! I can't wait to share the completion pics with y'all here. It's been quite the journey!

We had a floor AND a ceiling joist damaged. They’re now fixed & we kept moving. We’re down to the few finishing projects. Here are some pics of the process. The lovely painter doing the chair legs is my kids’ godmother Laure! She’s awfully gifted!

I saw this on a friend’s page & wanted to share. This is a seasonal thing as a rule. The waters must still be pretty cold.

The problems with the man-o-wars is that they look like balloons on the shore & their blue tentacles are pretty. It’s the one jelly that, if stung, you have to ride the pain out because there’s nothing to stop it. I can’t tell you how many winter visitors I have explained this to over the years. It’s a really tough sting!

If you’re stung by regular jelly fish on a public beach find a lifeguard. They have “jellyfish sting spray”. If you’re on private beach access be sure to have hand sanitizer in your beach bag. It will stop the pain almost immediately.
