Grove Veterinary Practice
Arthritis doesn't always look like a limping dog. Sometimes it's subtle. Sometimes it just looks like your dog is slowing down or being a little grumpy and it's easy to write off as just getting older.
Watch for things like stiffness after rest, hesitation on stairs, not wanting to jump up anymore, or licking at their joints. Those are all signs worth mentioning to your vet.
If your dog is showing any of these, come talk to us. There's a lot we can do to help them feel better. π grovevp.com

Hey, we all have our quirksβ¦
Some of us just have more than others. π

June is National Microchipping Month and with the 4th of July right around the corner we could not think of a better time to bring this up.
π₯Ί More pets go missing on July 4th than any other day of the year. Fireworks, open doors, spooked animals, it happens so fast.
A microchip is a permanent form of identification that stays with your pet no matter what and it is one of the easiest things we can do to give you peace of mind.
If your pet isn't microchipped yet or if your contact information has changed since you got it done, now is the time to get that sorted. Come see us and we'll take care of it. π
Send us a message to schedule an appointment. β¬οΈ

πΎβ€οΈ Slice of Kindness Delivered! β€οΈπ
This week, the Your Pie Grovetown team had the pleasure of delivering a Slice of Kindness to the amazing team at Grove Veterinary Practice!
They were nominated for the kindness, compassion, and care they show every day to both their patients and the people who love them. From comforting anxious pet parents to providing exceptional care for furry family members, their team goes above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners.
We're grateful for everything they do for our community and were honored to surprise them with pizza as a small token of appreciation.
Thank you, Grove Veterinary Practice, for the love and dedication you bring to every wagging tail, happy purr, and grateful pet parent. πΆπ±π
Here's a question we get a lot. π How often does my pet actually need to come in?
Dr. Gray answers it in the reel but here's your cheat sheet.
π Adult pets: at least once a year
𧑠Senior pets: every 6 months
π©΅ Puppies and kittens: more frequently in that first year because of their vaccine schedule, we'll walk you through the whole thing
The once a year visit isn't just about vaccines. It's how we catch the things you can't see at home and how we make sure your pet is living their healthiest life. That's kind of the whole point of what we do here. π
Been a minute? No judgement here, we get it. Just give us a call and let's get them on the schedule. π

We all have that one coworker who can't hide their facial expressions. π
β‘οΈ And in case you were wondering, yes...we do vaccines! Message us now to schedule!

Hot pavement can burn your dogβs paw pads in just a matter of seconds. π²
A good rule of thumb: place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If itβs too hot for you to keep your hand there comfortably, itβs too hot for your dog to walk on. πΎ
Even when the air temperature feels pleasant, asphalt and concrete can heat up much faster in direct sunlight. On an 85Β°F day, pavement temperatures can climb well over 130Β°F. π₯΅
Burned paw pads can be painful and may cause limping, licking, redness, or blistering.
To keep your dog safe:
β’ Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
β’ Stick to grass whenever possible
β’ Watch for signs that the ground is too hot
β’ Consider protective booties for sensitive paws
If your pet is limping after a walk or you notice irritation on their paw pads, give us a call or book an appointment online. Weβre here to help keep those paws happy all summer long. π
