Midnight Patrol Leads to Arrests and Recovery of Stolen Property
Just after midnight on June 3, Sgt. Kyle Dotson was patrolling the 5100 block of 32nd Street when he observed a physical disturbance and intervened in what appeared to be an assault in progress.
Through his investigation, Sgt. Dotson learned the victim had allegedly been assaulted by multiple suspects, sustained visible injuries, and was robbed of cash and personal property.
Thanks to the quick response of Sgt. Dotson and responding officers, all three suspects were taken into custody, and the victim's stolen property was recovered.
The three individuals were arrested and charged with Robbery, a Second-Degree Felony under Texas Penal Code ยง 29.02. Additional charges were also filed as part of the investigation.
We commend Sgt. Dotson and the responding night-shift officers for their professionalism and thorough investigation.
All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

On Sunday, May 24, 2026, Sgt. Thibodeaux conducted a pedestrian contact in the 5200 block of 25th Street.
During the investigation, the subject was identified as Eric Frasier, 47, a Groves resident. Frasier was found to have an active parole warrant and was placed under arrest. Officers also located approximately 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine during the arrest.
Frasier was arrested on the active parole warrant and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, 4 grams or more but less than 200 grams, a Second Degree Felony.
Proactive patrol is one part of the daily work officers do in our community. In this case, the investigation led to a felony drug arrest and the seizure of suspected methamphetamine. We appreciate the continued work of our officers and their service to the citizens of Groves.

Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Drug Arrest and Recovery of Stolen Property
On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, Officer Mejia conducted a traffic stop on a black SUV in the 5200 block of Gulfway Drive.
During the investigation, officers located approximately 11 grams of methamphetamine. The driver, Geraldo Guadalupe Peralta Garcia, 42, a Groves resident, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, 4 grams or more but less than 200 grams, a Second Degree Felony.
The investigation also led to the recovery of stolen property connected to another case in Groves.
