Five Cities Water Systems

We are aware of this notice and recommend following the guidelines, even if you have a reverse osmosis unit, being that they did not disclose which bacteria is present. However, if you have a UV system, there is no cause for concern as it will kill 99% of harmful pathogens, viruses and bacteria. We are working to find out which bacteria was found. Residents in Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Oceano, Pismo Beach, Avila Beach and San Miguelito Water Company (Zone 3) are instructed to boil water before drinking after presence of bacteria was found in the drinking water distribution system. The boil notice is expected to remain in effect through the weekend.
