Today is Veterans Day, a day to honor and thank all the brave people who have served and sacrificed for our country. Animals have been loyal companions, helpers, and heroes for soldiers throughout history, providing comfort, support, and protection. 🐾

Replanting vast acres of forests seemed like an overwhelming task until three Border Collies stepped up to help. These dogs have been specially trained to run through damaged forests, wearing backpacks that release native plant seeds as they go. The goal is for these seeds to take root and help regenerate the destroyed areas 🐶

Border Collies are perfect for this job due to their speed, intelligence, endurance, and ability to stay focused, even when wildlife is present!

It is amazing what dogs can be trained to do. Maple is going to amazing things for studying disease among the bee population. She has a tailored suit just for her!

Researchers at Michigan State University have brought a k-9, a springer-spaniel named Maple, into the fold to help detect the honeybee disease: American foulbrood, a bacterial disease that poses a significant threat to honeybees.

Her bee suit is specially altered and tested to keep her safe!!
