Yesterday, .d.slaughter and I went to the and were entranced by the work of in the War Dogs exhibit. This is only one example, but each piece was incredibly moving, paired with the story of the dog represented. What we did not know was that not only was the artist there, but we also met Navy Sr. Chief Mike Toussaint, whose dog is one of the dogs in the exhibit (not pictured, and who gave his life in service during an attempt to rescue Bowe Bergdahl), and who happened to be in town to see Remco. Sr. Chief Toussaint took some time and spoke with us after as well. Not what we expected for a Saturday morning, but I’m sure glad it happened.
