I love the “nerdier” things in life. Comic cons, Renaissance faire, reading books... When I was a kid I *desperately* wanted to go to a Star Trek convention. Sadly, I never have made it to one. 😢 Anyway, when Caleb’s mom told me what she was thinking for his senior session, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get a little (or a lot) excited. And to top this dream session off, Caleb is one of the kindest young men I’ve met (and he is crazy smart too!)

The Mancias family. I don’t know why I’m surprised by it anymore, but when I get people in front of my camera, even people I know, I always learn something new about who they are. I know Ashley. She’s been my hair stylist for years now (and she is AMAZING, btw). I can be tough to get to know (I’m an INFJ through and through). Any time I’m going through something tough, I do something a bit drastic to my hair. So Ashley is always there with me as I sort of process life while she colors it purple (yes, that happened). We have talked about having babies, birth trauma, breastfeeding, caring for my mom in her last weeks, and so many other things. But still I was surprised to see something new about this gorgeous woman. She loves her kids big and, man, it shows. Though I love all their photos, my favorites are the ones where they’re interacting because their bond is just so obvious. They love and enjoy each other and it was an honor to capture that for them. ❤️
