Major Meter Milestone: Tom Odle

Here is Tom holding his new Concept2 certificate for rowing over 163 million meters. To put this in the proper perspective, around the world at the equator is 40,075,000 meters. So, Tom has rowed around the world four times already and is on his fifth trip around.

Congratulations, Tom. What unbelievable numbers. Row on, my friend, row on! You are truly an inspiration to us all.

Different meter milestone: Mark Dease

Mark was formally one of our instructors, but as he rose through the ranks at Prisma Health, he had to give up leading classes at GIR.

He bought a Concept2 SkiErg to put in his garage at home. He sent me a text this morning telling me that as of this morning, he has now skied over two million meters. That is over 1280 miles he has skied in his garage.

Even More Meter Milestones:

Today was a BIG meter milestone day at GIR. I already announced John Swanson hitting 2 million in the 10:45 class.

Well, in the 9:15 class we had TWO Meter Milestones no less. GIR Instructor Debbie Schmitt hit 20 million lifetime meters and Ken Costanzo hit 10 million lifetime meters.

What a huge day for meter production at GIR. Awesome work everybody. Well done. Row On! Below are Debbie and Ken after the class.

Another Special Certificate: Around the world at the equator is 40,075,000 meters. The lead dog on our GIR meter sled has always been Tom Odle. He has now rowed around the world more than four times, and his lifetime meter total is in excess of 160,300,000
meters. I asked Concept2 to make a special certificate to acknowledge his fantastic achievement and I received it today. It is already hanging on the wall at Greenville Indoor Rowing.
