📚 Kindergarten Readiness Series — Day 2: Language & Literacy
Here's something every parent should know: children don't need to read before kindergarten. But they DO need a rich relationship with language.
What that looks like at ages 3–5:

✏️ Speaking in complete sentences and being understood by others

✏️ Listening to a short story and answering questions about it

✏️ Knowing their own name in print

✏️ Recognizing some letters — especially in their name

✏️ Loving books, even if they can't read yet
The #1 thing you can do at home? Talk WITH your child — not just to them. Ask open-ended questions. Let them finish their thoughts. Read together every single day, even for just 10 minutes.
