Over the past week, GCFR crews have been sharpening their water rescue skills through hands-on training led by Battalion Chief Llewellyn.

Training included reviewing PPE and rescue equipment, practicing conscious and unconscious victim rescues, conducting hasty shoreline searches, and building proficiency with Marine 9. Crews also trained on navigation, pump operations, boater safety, emergency anchoring, and locating points of interest on Lake Oconee.

Members were also introduced to the new BoatEye system, which enhances navigation and operational capabilities during low-visibility conditions on the water.

A special thank you to Battalion Chief Llewellyn for his leadership and dedication to our marine rescue program. He did an outstanding job ensuring our crews remain prepared to serve our community both on and around Lake Oconee. πŸ€™πŸΌ
