🌈Kira has crossed the rainbow bridge🌈

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of beautiful Kira. She was adopted from IDGSR over 10years ago and lived the most incredible life. She was loved beyond measure, cherished, went on amazing adventures, and brought so much joy to her family. The loss of a beloved family member is never easy but we have no doubt she is healthy and whole across the rainbow bridge. Until we meet again sweet girl, rest easy. 🤍

🐾❤IDGSR Welcomes Hanalei into the Rescue!!❤🐾

Hanalei is a very special 8-month old female German Shepherd. She has a condition called MegaE (Megaesophagus). If she weren't flown to our care, she would have been euthanized because of her condition.

Simply put: MegaE (Megaesophagus) is a condition where the tube carrying food from a dog's mouth to its stomach becomes enlarged and weak. Food and water can't move normally, so they often come back up before reaching the stomach. Many MegaE dogs need to eat upright so gravity can help move food into the stomach. While it requires special care, many MegaE dogs can still live happy, loving lives.

Hanalei is in a highly qualified foster home where she is receiving the medical care she needs to become healthy. Right now, she is severely under weight, starving for the nutrients her body needs to grow.

She will be seeing a vet specialist very soon to assess how best to move forward and if surgery is needed.

All of her vet visits, Bailey Chair, and medical care will be quite expensive. We would love to have some financial assistance to make sure Hanalei gets exactly what she needs. If you feel compelled to donate, any amount is greatly appreciated!
