This is an ASME IX side bend from a test I supervised the other day. Fixing to bend it. A couple of thought questions for other folks involved in welder testing. Not pressing anyone to post answers as much as reflect on "do I know this?" As a note, at least 2 of these are things I have made a mistake on in my early years.
1) For Specimen preparation, what is a major difference between ASME IX and AWS D1.1 for side bends?
2) Which code has a more stringent acceptance criteria for bends?
3) AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.5 are very similar for bend tests but what's a difference related to side bends.
