One of the highlights of our Good Neighbor Bus Tour was learning about the incredible partnership between NeighborWorks Green Bay and the Green Bay Area Public School District's Bridges Construction & Renovation program.
General Contractor and Bridges instructor Chris Ziegler shared how this unique educational pathway provides students with hands-on, community-based learning experiences in the construction and renovation industries while making a meaningful impact in our community.

Students work alongside professional contractors to gain real-world experience developing valuable skills that prepare them for apprenticeships, further education at NWTC, and rewarding careers in high-demand trades.
But the impact extends far beyond the classroom.

By participating in projects that build and renovate safe, affordable housing, students see firsthand how their work can strengthen neighborhoods and improve lives. They are not only learning a trade—they are helping create homes and opportunities for local families.

The latest Bridges-built home is already on its way to becoming home for another local family later this summer, demonstrating how this partnership continues to create both educational opportunities and pathways to homeownership.
We are grateful to Chris Ziegler, the Bridges program, and the Green Bay Area Public School District for investing in the next generation of skilled trades professionals while helping address critical housing needs in our community.
