I hear the voice of my father who passed away 20+ years ago,
David Carlson. What he taught me was so valuable.

Being a truck driver is the same as being a skilled athlete or bull rider.
You either have it inside of you or you never will.

An Innate ability to make intelligent decisions to positively affect others in every facet of life as it is associated to trucking.
Trucking is so much more than your dispatcher getting you your next load. It goes way deeper.

If a person is in this business just for a stipend of a paycheck. Those are the people who are depreciating the value of those who are skilled professional truck drivers who understand the business.

Money and everything else. Right down to picking up your own trash.
Those who do not have to be told and reminded constantly about the important idiosyncrasies of the job. Are the ones who belong in a truck.
I am saying it today.

Profile, dig, ask the important questions. Get the answer. Then show them the door if it's not what improves trucking for all.
"There must be a huge driver shortage in America if you want your value to increase".

"Truck drivers are the same as a product you sell. The more you produce the cheaper the person or commodity becomes". - Brian Carlson DFF.
As a professional truck driver who has tremendous business acumen. Please understand.

Until you get rid of dead weight. Slow down the influx of poorly trained quick buckers. You will never be held in any higher regard than the driver who has 200 hundred hours and burns up the company brakes coming down the first hill he/she pulls.

Comprehension, skill, passion, where-with-all, conviction, commitment, mannerisms.

{Heart}

That's what makes a champion. That's what makes a truck driver. If you do not have this inside you, park it, get out, we are tired of the garbage image.
Those drivers just cheapened the value of your neighbor. You have downgraded his/her efforts.

That truck they drive is just a piece of plastic with a steering wheel and tires if you do not have all of the above. "This business of terrible attitudes is terrible".

If you can't be professional. Turn the key other-way, and walk.

This is reason number 1, why I created the dff. It is 1 of many. But this is number 1. I wish our Industry was not so full of ostriches always sticking our head in the sand.

I fear that we have reached the bottom of the barrel. To where man has literally and figuratively killed our selves in pursuit of wealth. Or worse yet, killed ourselves for mere survival.

Our Government and large trucking companies are by enlarge to blame for the horrendous torture our nations truckers endure everyday. The daily pounding for such pathetic wages. The constant pressure to meet demands set by individuals that have, nary the slightest idea as to what drivers' everyday, deal with out over the road. Not to mention some of the worst training in the history of the Industry. Compound this with many of our superior's making unrealistic promises to customers to get that extra contract.

Promising them the world. Then expect the driver to pull them out of the fire when something goes wrong. Then when the Trucking company is threatened by the customer, that if things don't improve they will find someone else. Or, we don't want that driver back.

Who gets the blame? The guy who did the work.

Yes we at the DFF stress accountability. It is all about personal commitment to excellence and professionalism. www.driveforfreedomfoundation.org

However what we are experiencing-- is that because our society has taken so much from us, and our employers have given back so little for so much effort.

Man has felt sucked into going harder and harder and harder.

We have been overwhelmed with frustration. Until we literally hit the wall from exhaustion. mentally, physically, emotionally and financially.

Yes we will reduce it all with our curriculum at the NAPDA. But if the drivers that care... that are fans of this page.

Do not take the time to investigate who we are at the dff.

And at least consider joining the family and so many other drivers stepping up to stop this insanity.

We are all in a way enabling it to get worse. If that is possible.

"This picture is your industry right now."

We are asking you--maybe pleading... to please let's work together to save lives and to see our country's truckers free from all the shackles that bind us.

Godspeed to this driver and so many more that have fallen. Let's go fix it all together. We can if you have faith in each other.

Thank you for being a part of our lives.
