Frames selects 2 . One of our most significant creative battles during production centered around our cinematographic choices. From the beginning, we envisioned achieving an authentic 80s aesthetic through the use of vintage anamorphic lenses throughout the series.

Despite shooting on the modern Sony Venice, we deliberately chose vintage anamorphics knowing they would produce a softer, more period-appropriate image compared to their contemporary counterparts. This decision faced considerable pushback from production, highlighting an interesting tension between creative vision and technical expectations in modern filmmaking.

Working closely with , we had to repeatedly defend our choice against concerns about Quality Control standards. In today’s digital age, we’ve become so accustomed to ultra-sharp imagery that any intentional deviation from this norm can raise red flags with production teams.

Standing firm on this creative decision proved worthwhile - the final look perfectly captures the period authenticity we were striving for. I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved and grateful for everyone who supported this vision. Sometimes the best creative choices require challenging the status quo
