In 1915, the city of Great Falls installed its first "Municipal Christmas Tree." Far from the first Christmas tree in Great Falls (which happened in 1885 - visit us Second Saturday to learn about it from Ken Robison!) this tree was born from the national movement for municipalities to install a tree for public display.

Join the Montana Arts Council this Thursday, December 4!
Winter's here, and when the days get dark it's the perfect time to celebrate light—in the company of friends. The MAC holds a free community reception at the The C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls this Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. It's a great opportunity to meet your Council members and fellow Electric City arts community members and discuss the many ways we can all support the arts in Montana.
There will be light refreshments and a cash bar on hand, and we'll be surrounded by some of the best art in Big Sky Country. The party's on, so come help us bring cheer and light to beat the cold and dark. Cheers!
