🚑❤️ Another great week is in the books for Kansas CPR Training!
This week involved a lot of windshield time, road miles, and opportunities to meet some amazing people across Kansas!
On Wednesday, we headed to Wichita to welcome a brand-new client, Air Capital Wealth Management. What a fantastic group! From the moment class started, they were completely locked in, engaged, and eager to learn. They asked a lot of great questions and participated throughout the entire training. We truly enjoyed every minute spent with their team and are excited to work with them again in the future.
Thursday, we pointed the truck west and made the trip to Dodge City to return to one of our longtime clients, Bright Beginnings Daycare. As always, it was another large and outstanding class! We always look forward to returning because everyone there is so friendly, welcoming, and committed to providing the best care possible for the children they serve. We had another fabulous training session and are excited to announce that we'll be back with them again in July!
In between those classes, we also had several trainings take place right here at our office, and we're not done yet—we have another class scheduled this afternoon!
We truly feel blessed to work with so many incredible organizations and individuals across Kansas. Whether you're a brand-new client or someone we've been training for years, we appreciate your trust, support, and commitment to learning lifesaving skills.
Thank you to all of our amazing clients, both new and old. We couldn't do what we do without you!

🚨🚨 MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT FROM KANSAS CPR TRAINING 🚨🚨
The day has finally arrived!
For months, we have been teasing that something BIG was coming. Behind the scenes, we have spent countless hours attending specialized training, developing curriculum, creating training manuals, building partnerships, and working with industry experts to bring a brand-new service to Kansas.
Today, we are proud to officially announce that Kansas CPR Training is expanding our services and now offers:
✅ Safety Assessment & Consulting
✅ AVIRT – Active Violent Immediate Response Training
This has been one of the most exciting projects in our company's history, and the response has already exceeded our expectations. Before officially launching, we have already developed a waiting list and received interest from churches, daycares, schools, businesses, restaurants, community organizations, and other facilities throughout Kansas.
While AVIRT was originally developed to help churches improve their safety and emergency preparedness, we quickly discovered that organizations across Kansas are looking for practical training to help keep their employees, customers, members, and visitors safe.
So, what is AVIRT?
AVIRT stands for Active Violent Immediate Response Training.
This comprehensive program is designed to help organizations prepare for active shooters, violent intruders, bomb threats, suspicious persons, workplace violence, and other critical incidents. Participants receive practical, real-world training that can help save lives during the critical minutes before first responders arrive.
One question we have already been asked is whether this training is only for armed individuals or people willing to physically confront an attacker.
The answer is absolutely not.
AVIRT is designed for everyone. Whether you are a teacher, daycare provider, church volunteer, office employee, healthcare professional, manager, business owner, or community leader, this training provides practical options for survival.
Participants learn how to recognize danger, make rapid decisions, protect others, escape when possible, secure themselves and others, provide lifesaving care to the injured, and survive a violent event. While the training discusses last-resort defensive options if escape is impossible, the primary focus is always on survival, protecting others, and increasing the likelihood of making it home safely.
Why is this training important?
The statistics are sobering.
According to data from the FBI, Gun Violence Archive, OSHA, SHRM, and the National Safety Council, active violence and workplace violence continue to impact communities of every size across America.
In 2025 alone, there were 408 mass shooting incidents resulting in 2,201 casualties. Of those casualties, 1,843 people were injured and 358 lost their lives.
These numbers serve as a reminder that violent incidents are not limited to large cities. They can happen anywhere, including small towns and rural communities.
Many people believe, "That could never happen here."
Unfortunately, we know emergencies can occur when we least expect them. Right here in Great Bend, we have witnessed serious incidents that remind us no community is immune from violence or emergencies.
Through AVIRT training, participants will learn how to:
✔️ Understand active violent response procedures
✔️ Recognize warning signs of a potential aggressor
✔️ Respond quickly during a violent or emergency situation
✔️ Learn practical escape, evasion, and survival techniques
✔️ Understand last-resort defensive options when no safe escape exists
✔️ Apply life-saving bleeding control techniques
✔️ Gain the confidence needed to respond effectively under pressure
The reality is that after a severe injury, a person can bleed to death in as little as three minutes.
Average EMS response times are often between three and five minutes. Even after emergency personnel arrive, medical responders frequently cannot enter a building until law enforcement has determined the scene is safe.
The first few minutes belong to those already on scene.
Additional statistics from the FBI, Gun Violence Archive, OSHA, SHRM, and the National Safety Council indicate:
• OSHA estimates more than 2 million people are affected by workplace violence each year.
• Nearly 1 in 7 employees report feeling unsafe at work.
• 48% of HR professionals report their organization has experienced some form of workplace violence.
• More than 60% of active shooter incidents are over before law enforcement arrives.
In addition to AVIRT, Kansas CPR Training now offers Safety Assessment & Consulting Services.
These services include facility assessments, safety audits, preparedness reviews, customized recommendations, and a comprehensive Emergency Action Plan and Training Manual designed specifically for your church, daycare, school, business, or organization.
For childcare providers, we are actively working to ensure this training aligns with Kansas childcare licensing requirements and are pursuing approval opportunities through CAPE, Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities (KCCTO), KDCF, KDHE, the Kansas State Department of Education, and Child Care Aware of Kansas.
As part of our commitment to providing the highest-quality training possible, we are also hopeful to meet with representatives from the Great Bend Police Department and the Barton County Sheriff's Office to gain additional insight and recommendations that can help strengthen this program even further.
A special thank you goes to Marketing Maven and their outstanding team. They have been instrumental in helping us bring this vision to life by assisting with brochures, letters, marketing materials, training manuals, website enhancements, and an exciting new AVIRT information page complete with a video overview of the program.
This is only the beginning.
Over the coming weeks, watch for additional information through the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce, Great Bend Tribune, Great Bend Post, social media, and local radio advertisements.
If your church, daycare, school, business, restaurant, or organization would like more information about AVIRT or our Safety Assessment & Consulting Services, we would love the opportunity to visit with you.

🚑❤️ Kansas CPR Training was back on the road bright and early yesterday morning for another amazing class!
We made a quick stop in Salina to pick up our instructor Joey Garringer before continuing on to the beautiful Maize Performing Arts & Aquatics Center where we provided CPR, AED & First Aid training for the Maize Recreation Commission.
This marked our 3rd year in a row working with their staff, and we are always excited when we get the opportunity to return. First off… WOW… what an absolutely beautiful facility! We were set up in a large conference room with 30 staff members in attendance, and from the moment class started, this group brought incredible energy.
This staff was absolutely dynamic—friendly, outgoing, entertaining, and full of personality! Joey and I truly enjoyed spending the day with them. There was a lot of laughter, great interaction, and a ton of amazing questions throughout the class. They stayed engaged from beginning to end and made the training both productive and a lot of fun.
During the class, we covered:
✅ CPR for adults, children & infants
✅ How to properly use an AED
✅ Basic first aid skills
✅ Real-world emergency experiences and scenarios
One of the things we love most about teaching is helping people feel confident and prepared if an emergency ever happens. By the end of the class, Joey and I left feeling confident that each and every one of them would step up and be a HERO when needed. ❤️
A huge thank you to the Maize Recreation Commission for once again trusting Kansas CPR Training with your staff training needs. We truly appreciate the continued partnership and look forward to returning again in the future!

🚑❤️ Another busy and exciting week for Kansas CPR Training is in the books—and we are incredibly grateful for everyone who continues to trust us with their CPR, AED, and First Aid training needs across Kansas!
Last Saturday morning, we were back at Hutchinson Community College for our monthly class with daycare providers. We always enjoy these classes because the childcare professionals who attend are so passionate about keeping children safe and prepared for emergencies. Thank you to everyone who attended!
On Tuesday evening, we hosted a class at our office in Great Bend where we recertified some of the staff from Amber Waves Staffing. This was our second class with their team, and we truly appreciate their continued trust in us. Amber Waves is a traveling nurse staffing company based here in Great Bend, and their team was once again completely locked in, engaged, and ready to learn. Fantastic group of people!
Then came yesterday’s road trip to Manhattan, Kansas to train the staff at Freedom Behavioral Health Services — and wow… let’s just say Kansas weather had other plans 😳🌬️
You know it’s a windy Kansas day when it takes an entire tank of gas to make it to Manhattan and back! The wind was absolutely wild yesterday. At one point, I nearly watched a semi-tip over right in front of me before the driver thankfully got it back under control. Let’s just say there were a few white-knuckle moments behind the wheel 😅
Thankfully, once we arrived, the class made the trip completely worth it. Freedom Behavioral Health Services has offices across the country—including Alaska—and their team was outstanding. They had a great sense of humor, asked a lot of thoughtful questions, and stayed engaged throughout the entire training. We’re extremely appreciative they chose Kansas CPR Training, and we’re excited to return for future classes with their staff.
In between all of that, we’ve also been conducting several one-on-one sessions and working frantically behind the scenes with our marketing company as we prepare to launch our new services very soon 👀
We are getting VERY close to making the big announcement here in Kansas… and trust us, you’re going to want to stay tuned!
