It’s been a while since I’ve properly introduced myself, and with so many new followers joining me lately, this felt like the perfect time to share a little about who I am and what I do.

I’m Uniqueka (Unique-ka), though most people know me as Chyna. 💛

Born in Boston 🇺🇸 with family roots in the beautiful Seychelles 🇸🇨, I come from a family where beauty and hair care run deep. My parents, grandfather, and godmother all worked in or owned salons at different points in their lives, so stepping into the beauty industry felt less like a career choice and more like destiny.

For over 11 years, I’ve dedicated my hands and heart to helping women achieve healthy, beautiful hair while building confidence along the way. Over the course of 20+ years, I’ve worked with a variety of styles and techniques including silk presses, sew-ins, quick weaves, individual braids, perms, keratin treatments, and more.

For the past decade, I’ve specialized in protective styling, particularly crochet braids, continuously refining my craft, learning new techniques, and striving to provide the best experience possible for every client who sits in my chair.

My business has been built on consistency, professionalism, and genuine care. I’m honored to have earned over 1,000 five-star reviews across Genbook, Google Business, and GlossGenius from amazing clients who have trusted me with their hair journeys. 🥰

When I’m not behind the chair, I’m a proud mother of three amazing teenagers. I enjoy horseback riding, traveling, and creating meaningful memories with my family. Music is always playing somewhere in the background, whether it’s 80s R&B, smooth jazz, Bruno Mars, Frank Sinatra, or a little bit of everything in between.

A few of my hair inspirations? SWV, Beyoncé, Farrah Fawcett, and yes... even The Bee Gees. 😂
