Want zinnias like ours? You’ve got time to prepare for a fall crop. Check out the zinnia varieties online at sellers like Eden Brothers. Even Amazon, Walmart, and Dollar Tree have great choices. We go for the Benary and Giant varieties. Plant in a mass scatter, toss a thin layer of soil over them, and water them twice daily until they’re 6” tall then thin them out to be 8” apart. We love the deep burgundy paired with salmon or peach for a Fall color explosion. Plant them now and they’ll bloom by late September. The pollinators will love you!

If you have new Confederate Roses (hibiscus), we suggest staking them. High winds are in the forecast. For those with taller confederates, we suggest cinching around the perimeter (outer branches) with rope or flat moving straps and staking them for support if the branches haven’t turned to hardwood yet.

One mature, perennial red “shrimp plant.” It’s our personal plant, 3 years old, in a nice pot. 3.5x3’, blooming. We love this girl but don’t have room for her. She’d love to be planted in the ground (zone 9 or zone 8, south facing only) or in a larger pot.
$75.
