Weekly Update #2 Weekly Update #2

Our DECATS campers are putting one of our scholarly traits into action—Scholars Are Caring!
This week, campers are collecting backpacks for the GCISD Back-to-School Fair to help students start the school year prepared and ready to learn. We are proud to see our campers demonstrating kindness, generosity, and a commitment to supporting others in our community.

Good manners never go out of style!

Our Culinary Creators at DECATS put their creativity to work today as they learned the art and science of pickling cucumbers! From measuring ingredients to creating their own flavorful combinations, students enjoyed a hands-on experience that was both fun and delicious.

DECATS Rubik’s Cube class is putting their problem-solving skills to work! Students learned strategies for solving Rubik’s Cubes and then combined their cubes to create an amazing pixelated picture. It’s incredible to see how individual cubes can come together to form one giant piece of artwork. Great teamwork, perseverance, and creativity on display in this class!

Weekly Update #1 Weekly Update #1

Our amazing rising 11th grade PSAT Team members from CHHS & GHS just wrapped up an awesome week of PSAT Camp! 🎉📚✏️

Throughout the week, students dove into reading and math skills as they began preparing for the PSAT and SAT they will take this fall. Their hard work, focus, and dedication to growing their skills was incredible to see!

A huge thank you to our outstanding PSAT Camp teachers — Mr. Ballauer, Ms. Elliott, Ms. Hoenig, Ms. McCormack, and Mr. Wevodau — for planning engaging and enriching lessons that helped students identify their strengths, target areas for growth, and create a plan for continued improvement.

We are so proud of these students and cannot wait to see all of their hard work pay off this fall!

Day 2 of DECATS Camp and things are getting wild around here! Watch out for disco robots and wanted wizards roaming the halls today. Campers are having a blast learning, creating, and making memories together!
