Good morning My Red Tent moms! This is Anna Brandon, staying on the periphery while a brilliant group of moms carries My Red Tent to the next level of help in this community. I want to say though, on the day when all of us are being celebrated, it's OK to not be celebrating. Some years are just like that. Motherhood to me is kind of like the stock market--if you're in it for an every day thrill, you're going to be disappointed. You can't make money every day--but over time it can happen. Now when my children are grown, and some of my grandchildren even, now when I look forward to the arrival of great-grandchildren some day, even now I know that it isn't always bliss but in the end it's wonderful. This NY Times writer captures the ambivalence well.
